Volunteer for the ACFP-AMA’s Student Shadowing Program

The Alberta College of Family Physicians (ACFP), together with the Alberta Medical Association’s Sections of Family Medicine and Rural Medicine, is looking for family physician volunteers to be part of the 2024 Student Shadowing Program.

Whether you practise in rural or urban settings, share your enthusiasm and inspire students to make family medicine their specialty of choice. Placements will occur between June 8th to 28th and August 10th to 25th. To learn more about the program or to volunteer, visit our website

OCFP Practising Well

Practising Well Community of Practice

The Practising Well Community of Practice delivers monthly sessions focused on supporting family doctors as they work through the complexity of mental health, substance use disorders, and chronic pain. Connect with us on June 26, 2024, as our panelists share their experiences in creating safe spaces for transgender and/or non-binary patients and share resources that will help family doctors to support these patients. Registration is now open.

COVID-19 Community of Practice

The Changing the Way We Work COVID-19 Community of Practice for family physicians, created in partnership with OCFP and University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine held its 76th session on May 17, 2024. The recording, slide deck, and Q&A are available for review. This month’s sessions are planned for June 7th and June 21st.

Join us for the QCFP’s Annual Meeting of Members on June 14, 2024

The Quebec College of Family Physicians (QCFP)’s Annual Meeting of Members (AMM) will be held in person at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on Friday, June 14th, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (ET), during the Journée CQMF 2024.
