Welcome
The Section of Residents (SoR) was established in 1989 to act as a liaison between the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and family medicine residents across Canada.
The SoR is a national committee comprised of family medicine residents from across Canada. The representatives are elected by their peers from each of the family medicine residency programs in Canada.
First-year (R1) resident Council members are elected by their programs in July when they enter residency and stay for a two-year term. You can learn more about the role by reviewing the position description, Terms of Reference, and election guidelines.
