Program details:

Applications are now being accepted for The College of Family Physicians of Canada™ (CFPC)'s pilot Mentorship Program pilot.

This six-month online mentoring program connects members early in their careers to those who are more seasoned with the goal of providing advice, guidance, and support by using their expertise and experiences to guide others.

Length:

Mentorship pairs commit to meeting once per month for six months beginning July 2022. All meetings will be planned and scheduled by the participants.

Matching:

Participants will be matched in pairs based on their member profile information, including province or territory and experience in areas the mentee is looking for. Areas could include transitioning to practice from residency, practicing family medicine and dealing with system challenges, addressing challenging patient scenarios, or balancing work with personal responsibilities. Given the limited scope of this program, a match is not guaranteed.

Format:

This is a virtual program, with the option of in-person meetings.

Registration:

The CFPC is looking for both mentees and mentors to join this pilot program. There is a limited capacity for this pilot program. If a match is not found for either mentee or mentor, potential participants will be informed of this directly and placed on a waiting list should the program be expanded.
