The CFPC announces the new Director of Accreditation

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Keith Wycliffe-Jones will be joining the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) on secondment from the University of Calgary as our new Director, Accreditation, within the Academic Family Medicine Division.

Dr. Jones is a family physician and has been practising medicine for more than 35 years. After graduating from Edinburgh Medical School in 1984, completing his General Practice (GP) training in Aberdeen in 1987, and working as a full-time GP in the Scottish Highlands for 18 years, Dr. Jones moved to Canada and the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Calgary in 2005.

Dr. Jones has an impressive professional background with engagement, leadership, and accomplishment in postgraduate medical education, locally, nationally, and internationally collaborating with key thought leaders and partner organizations. Notably, he is a past program director at the University of Calgary and served two terms as Chair on the CFPC Residency Accreditation Committee, from 2014 to 2020. He has also led many accreditation reviews. Dr. Jones holds a deep-seated commitment to evidence- and evaluation-led approaches and has spearheaded scholarly work and related improvements in family medicine selection in Canada.

With this proven track record combined with his ability to develop meaningful relationships and manage complexity, Dr. Jones will undoubtedly make significant contributions to our Accreditation unit and help us achieve our goals.


Please join me in welcoming Dr. Jones to the CFPC. His first day will be on May 14, 2024. He will be in this role in a part-time capacity (0.4 FTE) and will split his time and responsibilities between his home in Calgary, the CFPC in Mississauga, and around the country at accreditation reviews.
